Frequently Asked Questions

Will the tutor come to our home?
image08Yes. The tutor will come to your home as often as you want. We require that a parent or guardian over the age of 21 be at home for the entire tutoring session.

What academic subjects do you tutor?
We tutor all academic subjects for all grades K-12 and foreign languages. We also offer tutoring for test preparation including PSAT, SAT I, SAT II and Standardized state tests.

What are your tutor's qualifications?
Our tutors hold an Associate's, Bachelor's or Master's degree. We check all references and interview every tutor personally.

Are there any contracts?
No, we do not have any long-term contracts.

Do you tutor home schooled children?
Yes. If your child is being home schooled we will provide a credentialed teacher or a certified tutor, depending on the type of home school program your child is receiving. Every home schooling family has different needs, and we will work with your family to develop the right program.

Do you provide tutoring for learning disabled or special needs children?
Yes, many of our tutors are Special Needs certified and many others have experience working with students with disabilities including ADD, HDD, dyslexia, Autism, and Asperger's.

How can I test the tutor's effectiveness?
Our tutors will keep you involved and update you about the progress the child is making. After a few tutoring sessions, ask your child some open-ended questions such as "What have you learnt so far...?" or "What do you like about...?" If the child's responses are positive and the child is enthusiastic about the subject, then the tutor is a good match for your child. The class teacher can also give you feedback on the progress your child has made. Another indication about the effectiveness of tutoring sessions could be better performance in the class tests.

What if my child does not like the tutor?
All of our tutors are qualified regarding the subject material but occasionally their style or personality might not work for a particular student. Please let us know as soon as possible and we will try to find a replacement tutor to work with you. We guarantee your satisfaction and will make every effort to offer a professional experience.

Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we accept major credit cards.
